Cases have been reported by dermatologists and doctors in Spain, Italy, and France. Spanish researchers began investigating whether this could be a symptom of a coronavirus. The phenomenon needs to be investigated in order to officially classify ulcers as symptoms.

These are small purple ulcers that are similar to chickenpox. Ulcers appear on the toes and heal on their own and do not leave a scar on the skin. Ulcers were most common in adolescents and children infected with the coronavirus.
