The British actress, star of the acclaimed TV series, is the flight of the fashion brand’s Fall-Winter 2020 campaign
In the acclaimed “Normal People” series, based on the novel of the same name by the equally acclaimed Sally Rooney, she played the complex, Marianne Sheridan. A multifaceted character, in which apparent strength corresponds to extreme fragility, which has given British actress Daisy Edgar-Jones (and also Paul Mescal, co-star of the show) international fame. In fact, there are many who have recognized themselves in the cultured Irish student, in love with the handsome Connell, who first – to silence the chatter of high school friends – goes to her in secret and then, repentant, give her a real chance, failing however to love her as she would like (and vice versa).
“Daisy is a modern heroine in the making, a muse for a new era”
In addition to the millions of spectators, the big fashion houses noticed her, and in particular, Jimmy Choo, who chose her as the face of her advertising campaign for Fall / Winter 2020. “Daisy is a modern heroine in the making, she represents the archetype of Jimmy Choo, a muse for a new era, and her talent combined with her humility give her a charm and unique security, said Sandra Choi, creative director of the brand, underlining how the actress found herself at the height of global fame during an extraordinary moment in history such as that of the pandemic.
In the center, the London roots of the brand
Born in London (not surprisingly, her biggest challenge in playing Marianne was learning the Irish accent), the actress had already starred in the science fiction series “War of the Worlds” and in the comedy “Cold Feet”, in which, from the sixth season, Olivia Marsden took on the role. “I, like many others – continued Choi – was mesmerized by her performance in” Normal People “and I’m so excited that we were able to work together to create such a beautiful campaign that speaks so strongly of the brand’s London roots”. Edgar-Jones
A campaign that celebrates women who dare to stand out
Autumn / Winter 2020, in particular, sees the continuation of the “In My Choos” project which celebrates women who dare to stand out. Shot by London-based American photographer Dan Martensen, it intuitively captures the confident and seductive spirit of Edgar-Jones, who, with a maturity that belies his years (he’s only 22), moves effortlessly between playful, charming, and seductive. What emerges above all is the essence of the Jimmy Choo woman, the idea of a girl everyone wants to know more about. Edgar-Jones
