What are the fashion trends for back to school 2020?
Who says back to school, says new season. With the new collections arriving in stores, it’s time to take stock of your wardrobe. Which pieces will be trendy this fall-winter? Which pieces of summer to keep? We tell you everything!
The holiday page is well and truly turned, and now that you are back, all you have to do is get into the heart of the trend to create your back to school fashion wish list. What pieces to keep? Which materials to choose? What are the prints you can’t miss this season? We get back to you!
Cowboy boots, sneakers, blazer … good shopping for the season
You’ve worn them all summer: keep your dresses flowing, short or long, and a bit oversized. Accessorized with a pair of cowboy boots or trendy sneakers, they will guarantee you a 100% fashion look. They will go perfectly with the other unmissable piece of the season: the blazer. We see it on all the looks of influencers and it-girls on Instagram. Plain, checked, rather oversized and crossed, it is a sure bet and a good joker to draw to be on top of the look. For a business meeting, a trip with girlfriends, a slightly chic dinner … It goes with everything! From the basic jeans / white T-shirt look to outfits with stronger pieces like a dress, precisely.
It made its comeback last winter: the cardigan is securing its place as a must-have this season. Worn sexy, buttoned against the skin and tucked into a high-waisted skirt or jeans, or played as an open twin set with a matching mesh top underneath … The knit to have this winter is resolute, the cardigan. But you have the right to bring out your darling sweatshirt from last year;)
Imitation leather, satin, faux fur … the trendy materials for fall
On the material side, imitation leather is still popular . Available as a Saharan jacket , fitted shirt, overalls, belted pants or an A-line skirt, it gives your look a rock look in a snap. We wear it with soft materials : a big knit sweater, a viscose blouse, a satin skirt. And we choose it black, for its timeless side , or colored to expand its collection.
It is often said that fashion trends and societal context are closely linked. In these troubled times, it is with our clothes that we seek comfort . It is therefore no surprise that the brands offer us cuddly sweaters and other curly faux fur pieces in which to curl up. Softness and comfort are essential , and that does not displease us!
For several seasons, brands have been seeking a more responsible approach and trying to innovate to make the manufacture of their models less harmful to the environment. The initiatives are numerous and we see flourishing everywhere, capsule collections or new brands offering clothing in organic cotton, recycled fibers, natural materials . We therefore check the labels and opt for shopping with items made from more responsible materials .
Zebra, leopard, flowers … the prints to tame at the start of the school year
Two team compete this season: the one hand, the animal print declined around the zebra and leopard . On the other, the plant motifs where the flowers are still and always in season. Good news, if these two prints go perfectly separately with basic pieces, they also go very well together. Followers of mix and match , no need to choose your side! We wear the animal print with natural colors and match the pattern, or outright, with bright colors for a dose of fun. For the flowers, we dare the total look and we twist the romantic side with a perfecto, denim, imitation leather.
